Scoliosis - Idiopathic Scoliosis
Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis is the most common type and
tends to run in families. The onset of this type of scoliosis is
also often associated with an injury to the pelvis. Treatment
with
adjustment
is often successful in straightening this type of scoliosis.
A
heel
lift inside the patient's shoe may be used but
no bracing is involved.
Unfortunately, after puberty (a time when the patient's growth rate is the fastest), it is more likely Chiropractic will only be able to provide relief of symptoms associated with scoliosis and not a correction of the problem. Therefore, a wait-and-see attitude is a dangerous strategy with scoliosis.
