Arthritis
The common symptoms of arthritis include pain, stiffness,
swelling and decreased motion.
Two common types of arthritis are: osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
- Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, is
related to "wear and tear" of the joints such as with injury and
overuse, and is diagnosed by X-ray. A blood test may be used
to rule out inflammatory arthritis such as Rheumatoid arthritis.
- Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease and is diagnosed by a blood test.
Some patients with Rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune arthritic conditions may find relief with Chiropractic treatment.
Osteoarthritis, however, can usually be successfully treated
chiropractically. In addition, the onset of osteoarthritis
may be prevented or delayed with Chiropractic treatment.
